All About Botox at Global Health & Beauty Clinic

Botox is one of our most popular treatments, and is one of the most widely performed in the aesthetics world. However, thanks to the media, many people have been misled about what the treatment involves, how safe it is, and what a successful result looks like. Here at Global Health & Beauty Clinic, an aesthetics clinic based in Coventry, we’re ready to set the record straight, peeling back the curtain on this incredible treatment and sorting out the facts from the fiction.

A safe, comfortable treatment

Because Botox involves needles and injections, many worry that the procedure is painful or unsafe. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We routinely carry out these anti-wrinkle injections on clients and very few report discomfort – thanks, in part, to the very fine needles used to administer the toxin. Topical numbing creams can be used, though this isn’t something we always deem necessary.

The real name for Botox is botulinum toxin, so the myth that it’s toxic does have some truth in it. However, it’s completely safe for using in injections, and many clients enjoy very little in the way of downtime or disruption, with usually only slight redness or swelling reported (if anything at all).

Results that look and feel natural

Botox has sometimes been given a bad name in the press in situations where people have had so much injected, that movement in the face is restricted, and the appearance takes on a ‘frozen’ look. As we’ve said, this is usually down to the quantity used (we always believe in ‘less is more’, as more can certainly be added), but it can also be the case with clinics that have a poor reputation or little experience in carrying out the treatment.

At Global Health & Beauty Clinic, an aesthetics clinic right here in Coventry, we think that natural-looking results are often the best results. After all, you want to improve your appearance while still retaining some of the mystique – and with very obvious, overdone treatment, results can quickly be ruined.

Long-lasting, but not permanent

We recommend clients have Botox every 3-4 months to maintain results. That’s because while it’s effective, anti-wrinkle injections aren’t permanent, and will gradually fade and break down in the body. However, it’s a great way to get a quick result without the downtime and risk associated with surgery – and what’s more, if you find the treatment isn’t for you, your face will slowly and gently return to its natural state.

Cosmetic and medical treatments available

Surprisingly, Botox isn’t just a treatment for cosmetic uses like lines and wrinkles, though there’s no arguing that it’s extremely effective at treating them! Incredibly, anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to ease signs of excessive sweating and to curb teeth grinding.

At Global Health & Beauty Clinic, your local aesthetics clinic based here in Coventry, we usually carry out Botox for aesthetic purposes, targeting crow’s feet, worry & frown lines, smoker’s lines and even gummy smile.
