Your Botox Questions Answered

At Global Health & Beauty Clinic, you aesthetic clinic here in Coventry, we offer a range of aesthetics treatments to help you look and feel better than you thought possible. We treat men and women of all ages and backgrounds and believe that beauty and confidence are one and the same.

In this post, we’re focusing on our highly popular botox treatment (also known as anti-wrinkle injections), which is used to help soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles, the main signs of ageing in skin. We’ll be answering all the questions you’ve ever wanted to ask about botox, to help you work out if this is a treatment that could help you.

Does Botox hurt?

Botox is injected into the skin, and is administered with a needle. However, the needles used for our anti-wrinkle injections are extremely fine, which helps minimise discomfort. We may also numb the skin to prevent any pain or tingling during treatment.

How long does Botox last?

Results vary from person to person, but generally speaking, you should be able to enjoy your results for at least 4 months. You’ll need top-ups to prolong the effects, which is something we can plan for during your consultation.

Will I look fake or frozen?

The media has often reported stories of celebrities with frozen features or a fake-looking appearance. However, we take a less-is-more approach to the treatment and will always start with a low amount, that can then be built on as per your preference. Unlike dermal fillers, which can be dissolved, botox has to be processed by the body, so can’t be ‘undone’ once it’s been injected.

Will I be able to move my face?

Of course – our expressions are part of what makes us beautiful and we would never aim to take that away from our clients. Instead, we look to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles at rest, which are caused through making expressions (the reason they’re called ‘dynamic wrinkles’).

Is Botox safe?

Any aesthetic clinic worth its salt will endeavour to tell clients about possible risks to treatment – and there’s no aesthetic treatment that comes without them. Thankfully, botox is considered to be completely safe, and is even used in a medical capacity. Serious risks are extremely rare, but it’s not unusual to experience side-effects such as swelling, bruising or redness at the site of injection. We give all our clients detailed aftercare instructions to ensure you’re well-cared for after your treatment.

Who is suitable?

Most people will be suitable candidates for anti-wrinkle injections in Coventry, but the best way to determine this is through a skin consultation with our specialists. To book your consultation at our aesthetic clinic, get in touch with our team and we’ll arrange a time to suit you.
